Dr. Kelvin "Paul" McDaniel is a distinguished board-certified ophthalmologist and osteopathic physician specializing in advanced cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses (IOLs), and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). With a commitment to excellence in eye care, Dr. McDaniel brings extensive expertise in the surgical and medical management of cataracts and glaucoma.
Originally from Covington, Louisiana, Dr. McDaniel graduated cum laude from Tulane University and earned his medical degree with honors from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his medical internship in St. Louis and went on to complete his residency training in Ophthalmology at Saint Louis University, where he distinguished himself as a skilled and innovative surgeon.
During his residency, Dr. McDaniel set a record for the highest number of cataract surgeries performed in the history of his program. He was a pioneer in incorporating minimally invasive glaucoma surgery techniques into practice, including being the first to implant a MIGS device at Saint Louis University.
Dr. McDaniel is among a select group of cataract surgeons offering drop-free cataract surgery, a technique that minimizes or eliminates the need for post-operative eye drops. Additionally, he provides patients with the latest advancements in vision correction through the RxSight® Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL), allowing personalized adjustments to optimize visual outcomes after cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. McDaniel is actively involved in teaching and research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings. He is dedicated to patient education, ensuring each individual understands their eye health and treatment options thoroughly.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. McDaniel enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife, Kylie, and their family, engaging in outdoor activities, cooking, and traveling.
